Eli (Denzel Washington) has survived an apocalypse, and he is working his way west by foot. Searching for water, he finds a town overseen by Carnegie (Gary Oldman). Carnegie wants to start a new society but knows he needs a copy of the Bible to do so, so he searches for it daily. Realizing that Eli has a Bible, Carnegie attacks, even though Eli has been joined by Carnegie’s own daughter Solara (Mila Kunis). Carnegie eventually captures them both, wounding Eli. Despite this, Eli and Solara must find a way to pass the book on to future generations without allowing Carnegie to control the book. |
