127 Hours tells the true story of Aron Ralston (James Franco), an experienced mountain climber who became partially trapped under a boulder in a canyon in Utah after suffering a climbing accident. During his captivity, Ralston experienced numerous flashbacks about his friends and family, including his girlfriend, Rana (Clemence Poesy), and two climbers, Megan (Amber Tamblyn) and Kristi (Kate Mara) that he helped before he became injured. These flashbacks helped to convince Ralston to attempt to save his own life by any means necessary. Ralston at first believed that he would die as a result of his accident, but managed to free himself by cutting off his own arm after spending over five days in the canyon. |
